I’m not mad about that as much as I am that Christianity took lessons about unconditional love, forgiveness and kindness and turned it into a worldwide conglomerate of guilt, shame, judgement and hate that is literally crippling innocent children for life- all over the planet for generations upon generations.

okay i know this is like funny haha meme and all but anna todd is an almost 30 year old married woman who wrote a fanfiction about harry styles who is many years younger than her that not only has him in a lot of incredibly explicit sex scenes but it also portrays him as an abuser bad boy who only wants the main character (bland self-insert girl next door type) for sex. i read a large chunk of the first book of after when i was in middle school and it’s really Not Good.
after has been a problem in the 1d fandom for fucking years because besides being incredibly disrespectful towards harry, by virtue of it being a ~~harry styles fanfiction~~ on wattpad it attracted A LOT of younger girls who were then exposed to a really really unhealthy relationship dynamic that they are encouraged to want and romanticize because it has their idol.
so yes while the sentence “theyre turning a one direction wattpad fic into a movie” is really funny out of context as someone who has been following 1d since before after’s conception and watched firsthand all the bullshit it caused im really encouraging everyone to think about this and maybe give it the criticism it deserves.
I fucking remember this. Lots of girls in my classroom were obsessed with it. One of them ended up in an abusive relationship.
aside from all of that this has been in the works for a movie for like YEARS omg
i just had the funniest experience in vr chat, i joined a random server and the one i joined had Japanese people so i waddled around in my goofy club penguin avatar that i have saved, after a while a guy walks up to me and clones my avatar so were both penguins then another guy shows up and clone my avatar
now keep in mind there only speaking Japanese i don’t know what they are saying, then another guy joins in, so i got a group of three penguin friends
we just waddle around and goof about, the one of them tries to talk to me, but not only do i not have a mic i also don’t speak Japanese, they figure out i don’t speak Japanese and start listing various places, they get the part of being European right, and after listing a lot of places they ask if im from the UK and when i nod they all just start cheering. after hanging out for a while one of them gets real close to me and whispers…

you wake up and kiss your wife on her forehead. it’s your turn for the morning chores. you pull on your carhartts and a warm sweatshirt, your chunky wool socks and then your boots before heading out. you’re greeted by the dog and she joins you on the morning rounds, trotting along with you and checking up on new smells since the day before.
first, you greet the alpacas, refreshing their water and giving them their breakfast. you leave them to chow down for a few minutes while you head to the chicken coop. your boots are wet from the dew and the crisp morning air fills your lungs. you check the egg boxes and gather any eggs laid by your chickens and gather them into a basket by the back door. you’ll bring them inside when you’re done.
by now, the alpacas should be done and you head back to let them into their pasture. their wool is growing long, it’s nearly time for their yearly shearing. you make a mental note to call your friend later to schedule a day for that and then head inside with your dog.
inside, the house is warm and you can smell coffee brewing. your wife hears you come inside and waits for you to remove your boots before bringing you in for a kiss. she wraps you in her arms, still smelling like sleep and warmth, which mixes with the smell of the morning outside off your sweatshirt. her warm cheek and your cold cheek.
breaking out of the embrace, you bring her the basket of eggs and show her the days bounty that she will make into your breakfasts.
you head upstairs to shower while she feeds the dog and starts breakfast. It’s the start of a beautiful day in your beautiful life that you made. You smile and continue about your day.
